Today was a good day. It was full of questions, bad attitudes, tempers, & disciplining- but also full of dicipling, teaching, learning, praying and growing.
The morning was busy, but good. A momma who was very tired from only sleeping 3 1/2 hours, and kiddos still recovering from a busy, candy filled weekend. By noon my eldest was in an all out emotional state. Crying over everything that I said no to. Very unreasonable and super tired. (It's funny how when they are over-tired they cry and say they don't like going to bed, but when they are not over tired they go to bed without complaint!)
Then nap time came. Ah, sweet naptime. Peace and quiet, and a time for me to sit in the arm chair, look out the window at the sun shining, and read my Bible. It's amazing how refreshing it is to spend some time with God! Even though it's a no-brainer, it still, a lot of times, gets put on the back burner and I don't end up reading until the end of the day when I'm tired and not able to focus as well.
I also am [still] reading Shepherding a Child's Heart by Ted Tripp. What a great book! So I got in a couple chapters of it during the boy's nap- one chapter was on Embracing Biblical Methods: Communication and the second was Embracing Biblical Methods: The Rod. I got SO much out of the chapter on communication! I highly recommend this book!
An hour and a half later, Jake woke up, and came and snuggled with me on the chair. It was so good to see him with a happy attitude and a changed heart! Then we had some good heart to heart conversation... which ended up leading to the dreaded question. "Mommy, how does God put a baby in a mommy's tummy?" Oh dear... our little boy is growing up.
This picture was after daddy got home tonight. He was sitting in his arm chair relaxing after work, and Jakob was just sitting beside him, asking him question after question and soaking up information. It was so sweet to see them talking, and brought tears to my eyes.

Daddy playing with Ethan.
And a smile to end the day with:
