Ode to a Dishrag

This isn't just any dishrag.
It's the dishrag that I made when Mrs. Miller, the nextdoor neighbor, taught me to crochet.
It's the first thing I ever crocheted.
It was one of the first things to go in to my hopechest.
When Jason and I got married it was lovingly placed in the towel drawer of our first kitchen.
It graduated from cleaning up the counter after I cooked a fancy meal for my husband, to cleaning spills made by two messy boys.
And two days ago, I pulled it out of the dryer, only to find it had taken it's last spin.
Farewell, good and faithful dishrag.
